will my new mystic spires dwarf salvia survive

| I bought my Mystic Spires Dwarf Salvia and for now it is in the pot I bought it in, and on my patio. I have been watering it everyday (had it for 4 days), and it looks great! Can I plant it in a larger pot using Miracle Grow potting soil with food already added in; or do I need to add anything else? Can I bring it inside when the weather starts to cool down, and if so will it survive? I love it, but I really wanted something different I could use in doors also. Thanks for any suggestions! donna110206 |

Donna: I live in Austin,Texas don't know where your at but you should use some pine bark mulch to help with drainage in heavy rain fall area's do move it into a larger pot too. Use 50% regular pine bark (Not the "decorative or nuggets" type) 50% potting soil. If you were growing your plant in a controled environment just Miracle Grow would be fine. You will need to also fertize with Hasta Gro(6-12-6).Bring in when a frost or colder is expected. It likes to be kept wet. Keep an eye out for whitefly they can be a real problem too. Great plant it flowers all through summer and into the fall. Flowering begins later than it's cousin S."Indigo Spires" they are both sterile so no seed just lots of blooms!! |
