Salvia and honey bees

hawTX

I am about to plant a pretty large bed that will contain several kinds of salvias. I want the plants to provide food (nectar and/or pollen) for honey bees. I currently have (in another bed) a lot of mexican bush sage and indigo spires, which the bees love.

I am considering may night and east friesland, for one area in this new bed, because of their look and growth. But I want to make sure the bees will like them. Can some of you who already have one or the other of these plants tell me if you see bees on them? Even better: if someone has BOTH can you tell me if the bees prefer one over the other? And if you happen to have one or the other of these and also MBS or IS, can you compare the action on MBS/IS to the ones I am considering?

Thanks so much.

Adam

(I am in the DFW area, Texas, if that matters to anyone)
