Salvia 'Russian Blue Lights'

A gardening friend gave me some dark blue salvia the other day from her yard. She insists that it is called 'Russian Blue Lights' and that is definitely not 'Black and Blue.' A Google search does not turn up any salvias called 'Russian Blue Lights.' Have any of you heard of a salvia by this or a similar name?

Could she have said 'Russian Blue Spire' instead?

She didn't say that, but perhaps, that is what she meant. However, after looking up Russian Blue Spire, I think this one is darker. It's color seems to be more like that of Black and Blue. In her yard, it stands about 4 feet tall. I have a photo of it, but it's not close enough to really see the flower color. I guess I'm going to go with Russian Blue Spire. I don't know what else it could be.

The fact that it was sold to your friend as 'Russian Blue Spire' doesn't, of course, mean that it IS that. If you think it's 'Black and Blue' it probably is, sold under the wrong name. Happens all the time,
