Will this plant grow and thrive in Florida?

Grow a bit, yes. Thrive, no. Your nights are too hot and humid. This applies to all gray leaved sages.

Yes , you can start it from seed inside from sept. thru oct. , or outside in oct. it will look good from late jan. thru. june, then it does decline and die.

Oh bummer for you! I am sorry :o( I guess that makes up for all the tropical fruits that you can grow and I have to BABY and grow in pots.
I have mine on a little hill in amended heavy clay, but it's hot here and the soil dries up fast... almost no humidity.
