Help! What am I doing wrong?

I just planted some salvia farinacea 'rhea' a few weeks ago and now the leaves are turning a very dark bluish black and wilting a bit. Is this normal? Does it have to do with my soil conditions? The area where I planted them was previously covered with bark mulch, I'm wondering if it might be because the soil is too acidic? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

More likely to be either poor drainage or lack of sun.

I think that is a good diagnosis, salvias tend not to like wet feet.

Thanks so much for the help! I don't think it's lack of sun, there's plenty. It must be drainage then. Can I dig them up and lighten the soil a bit, or is it a lost cause? This is my first salvia experience, so I don't know that much about them.
