Navajo Red?

I took these photos this morning of my salvia that were labeled as greggii Navajo Red.

Red is a very difficult color to photograph, but it was cloudy and I cut a stem and used our slate and gravel paths as a backdrop to try to capture the correct shade of red bloom.

It could be would need a foliage shot to be sure. Rich
would be the one to give the identification being it
is his plant. My Navajo Red the stem & calyx is more green
than black.

Salvias are the most difficult plants to photograph. I don't know how Robin does it with his fine gallery!

Maybe these views will help. Since I write about gardening all the time, I'd really like to get the right ID on this salvia. It's a big star in my butterfly garden.

Here are the Ball series sage names and the variety name that they are better known as:

Salvia greggii 'Navajo Rose' = Salvia greggii x `Cherry Ice'
Salvia greggii 'Navajo Br. Red' = Salvia greggii x microphylla `Cherry Chief'
Salvia greggii 'Navajo Dk. Purple' = Salvia greggii x lycioides 'Los Lirios'

Rich has it Navajo 'Bright Red' that is much closer to what I have and looks like what you have as well.Thank You Rich.
