 o
Identification help

Does anyone know if there is another species of Salvia that looks VERY similar to Salvia Divinorum? I grew S. Divinorum a few years back, and I recently noticed a plant at my friend's house that looks pretty much identical. Leaves like the pictures below, square stems. We're trying to figure out if it's the same thing or something different. By the way we're not going to smoke it, as it is a nice looking plant, and the processed drug is easily available in head shops around here. Thanks for any help you can lend!

RE: Identification help

It sure looks like Salvia divinorum to me. There are different cultivars, but most of the differences are probably attributable to growing conditions (light intensity, temperature, and fertility).

By the way I would be very wary of using the concentrate, because several people have been hurt by overdosing. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brett's_Law for the situation in Delaware

Here is a link that might be useful: DEA status on Salvia divinorum and Salvinorin A
