It worked - Orange Door returns

Last year I learned to my chagrin that microphylla Orange Door was rather tender. When digging up the row of dead plants I discovered a few shoots were deep underground. These I replanted along with fresh cuttings and all were set about 6 inches deeper than they would normally be planted. It took them a very long time to show this year, but recently new shoots have appeared. This method probably wouldn't work in anything but the driest soil types, but given the right conditions, it does work. I would have missed this one, it is a stunner.
