| I planted some May Night last year, and they really responded well this year. Maybe burned themselves out a little too soon, but I'd still like to hold onto them. As I was clearing some brush near my property line this weekend, I realized that about half of them are on my neighbor's property. I guess they don't mind (can't really tell; they keep to themselves), but since I was considering retiring that flower bed anyway, my question is when would it be best to move the salvia? It's planted with some Stella D'Oro daylily, so I guess the same question applies to those as well. Thanks!! |

| Now is fine to move salvias. I would cut them back a lot when you move them, so if you move them during their blooming period you'll end up cutting off all of the flowers. Water carefully the rest of the summer. I think you can move any time until perhaps the end of August. if you move too late they might not have time to root thoroughly before winter. |
