Well, I feel foolish . .. there are actually three plants growing in a clump . . . two lavender, one coral. I have no idea how they all ended up together like that!~I had to look really closely to see what was going on.

There also may be differences in the shapes of the leaves.

I'm not surprised, because coral flowers imply the presence of a yellow pigment, usually a xanthophyl, based on carotene. A red or magenta anthocyanin is also present to give orange tones.

Violet colrs are often a blend of two anthocyanin pigments, one blue and another red or magenta.
