Best way to deadhead East Friesland Sage Salvia?

| I was hoping to find out the best way to deadhead East Friesland Sage. Should I shear the entire stalk close to the ground, or just the bloom below, right below the spent flowers/blossoms?

| My 'Caradonna' (also a nemorosa) sends out new blooming shoots below, and on either side, of the old blooming stem, so I just remove the old blooming stem down to the next set of leaves and/or stems. Brenda |

| The floral stems can be cut close to the ground, provided that the basal rosette of leaves is still healthy. It may take longer to form another set of flowering stems, but the plant will look tidier. |
