| Can someone help Id this, and possibly tell me how best to care for it? A helper at the nursery told me to pinch it back for new growth, but I'm lost. Where to pinch, and will ther be any new growth this late in season? |

| Looks like one of the many forms of Salvia nemorosa. Cutting back dead flowering stems should encourage new flowering ones. |
|
| If the leaves are kinda leathery it could be Salvia x superba "Meadow Queen". If it is, you can just snap off the dead spike and it will rebloom until frost. |
