I just have to praise Salvia turkistanica alba

I'm not usually on this forum, but if any of you have not tried this plant, I highly recommend it. It has big, coarse leaves, and a statuesque white bloom, about 3'. The fragrance it the most unusual herby smell I've ever come across, and can waft a few feet away.

I believe it's a biennial. It's very drought tolerant, and anyone who comes into my garden can't believe it's a salvia.

When I first got it, and watched as it prepared to bloom I thought, "gee, this is going to be pretty disappointing", 'cause it didn't look like much, but wow - it's very cool. It also reseeds happily in my garden.

Just wanted to pass the word on to those who haven't tried it. It seems pretty uncommon around here.
