I got this salvia thinking it was a sun lover. I germinated the seed kept in in my shade house for months. Open shadehouse too. Put it in a full sun position, and it slowly withered away. I was sad. I have one more and now im afraid to plant it out. Same with S. eremostachya, and a S. leucophylla form big sur, ca. I have a S. leucophylla already planted and it did well. It is more pubescent/white than the Big Sur form. I dont know if i overwatered them? Or if they just burned up? I acclimated them slowly. Luckily i have extras. Always a must for me. I have other CA natives and this has never happened. I also planted a S. chinopeplica right next to these and it is doing fine. Any help from the CA native growers.
