Your salvia Purpurea looks very nice. I've growing s. purpureas before but mine have always had tiny little flowers? Your flowers look a lot bigger than mine were, I'm wondering why?

Thanks Heathen1 & Helena,

The first flowers that opened on the purpurea were small & as more and more opened they got bigger & bigger.

Maybe it has got something to do with climates?

Cheers Annette

It sure does. Mine are always late. A slow long slide with cooling temperatures without frost is best for fall blooming sages. I hope to get good images of Salvia purpurea Lavender Lace and the Salvia iodantha from Baton Rouge soon.
