Welcome , You have S.coccinea "Coral Nymph" that has small flowers? what other salvias are you growing in what kind of
conditions ie; sun, shade etc. My salvia's usually take a break in summer.I am growing S.lyrata,S.coccinea Several forms,S.Regla Jame form,S.Scabra,S.microphylla lots of forms,S.greggii lots of forms,S.miniata,S.farinacea lots of forms,S.melissadora,ballotaeflora,S.splendens,S.azurea var.
pitcheri,hybrids to many to name,S.penstemonoides.etc... The point is they all have their season of bloom.lots depends on weather,soil and Cultivar so please let us know
which ones you are having problems with?

Art, I have Lady in Red, Coral nymph, Black and Blue and Spanish Dancer. They all receive eight hours of sun per day if not more. The Black and Blue I have tried for three years now and it is tall, lush, but the flowers are almost nothing. Do you fertilize them or not. Thanks, Sybil

I don't fertilize my Salvia's much (spring only 5-2-0 fertizer)
A few other questions where are you in Zone six,Town
State, etc. My S. coccinea have smaller flowers in the heat 95-103 degrees that is normal.The S.coccinea don't have large blooms to begin with,Lady in red,coral Nymph and Spanish Dancer.In the moring you should have flowers,but
during the day they get shredded so no bloom in the afternoon.The Guaranitica's (Black and blue)are more shade loving for me and bloom better when it is cool not so much when it is warm. My black and blue is morning sun (3hours)shade the rest of the day. I also put fir needles(Christmas trees) around it as a mulch.Where is you soil PH?If your soil Ph is between 6-7 you should be ok on either side of that your phosphorus is tied up (unavailable).Thus making your plants not bloom. Please let me know.
