Can anyone tell me how to get rid of a pink moth that is stopping the blooms on all my salvias. The blossoms are all enclosed in eggs cases with the poop of the worms everywhere. Thanks, sassyo

I've never heard of this type of moth. Can you post some digital images? Are the flowers being attacked fully open, or just in bud? Are any other plants being attacked, and are both old world and new world sages being attacked?

Have you tried spraying with BT?

A new thread by Rich had me going to the CA Dept of Agri. to see what it looks like. I was wondering if this is the same critter eating your blooms.

The Light Brown Apple Moth (LBAM) in the USA only in the San Francisco-Bay area and a recent neighborhood breakout under ground control in Sherman Oaks, CA.

Don't panic. Check with your state and USDA-APHIS web sites on the status of the pest. Don't punish nurseries needlessly.
