Found new Public Gardens

We went to a lovely public garden yesterday in Thousand Oaks, CA..... the Canejo Valley Botanic Garden run soley by volunteer gardeners. They had excellant displays of Native and drought tolerant plants. One whole garden was only Salvias.

And add bonus: they have a sale of their plants on Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Of course I was obliged to buy several very healthy, well-rooted plants to take back to my Fresno garden:

S. karwiskii

S. mellifera

S. spathacea

S. desoleana

and

one minature Lions Tail -- Leonotis mellifera

This is one garden I would recommend visiting if you are in the greater LA area.
