Salvia Blue Bedder...maybe you can help me...

because I am somewhat confused. I grew Salvia Blue Bedder from seed last year - planting them out in May of 2005 and I am not exactly sure when they finally bloomed but I do remember waiting for them, so they must have started late - like in July. Anyway, the clumps overwintered - actually staying green all winter because of our milder temps last year - and I got blooms end of April. They were gorgeous and lasted quite a bit. Now the ones I planted in May of 2006 just started blooming in the last couple of weeks. Is this normal? Thanks - Carrie (and possibly if the new ones overwinter will they also bloom in April or at least early?) Thanks, again.
