One of my favorite salvias is the Plumosa. My daughter ordered some from Michigan Bulb and the first year they were beautiful. They filled her beds; mine are leggy. I know I can't do anything with them now, but is there a way next year to control them. Do you pinch them back to make them more contained?

Assume you have Salvia nemorosa 'Plumosa', a lovely Salvia, BUT it is always untidy here. Pinching it back should help. This is a Salvia which thrives in full sun.

I tried it here in Texas and it never did well. Neremosas never do for me. I read somewhere they do not like "hot Dirt". Well, that about says it. All I have is hot dirt. REAL HOT dirt.
