Mary, Mary, quite contrary. How does your garden grow?

I have two S. clevelandii, one in a full sun, dry naturalized garden. The other is in a hummingbird garden with a little shade from a Palo verde. The shady one also receives a little water even though it is on the edge of my garden (close to my deck for the aroma). Between June and Sept we received about 6 inch of rain, not at all like its natural growing area. The full sun plant did not bloom in the spring looks alive but dormant (normal I believe). The shady plant had nice spring blossoms is growing, and looks healthy (not normal). I am zone 10 sunset 8 USDA 4500 ft elevation and very good draining soil (sand). The question is getting close.

I grew S. apiana in my garden in Phoenix, which was all clay and cliche. So I have had some experience with the plant.

The big question.

Which garden should I plant some starts in this fall?
