'Dancing Flames' seeds grow... what?

I collected four seeds from what I'm now pretty sure were Dancing Flames salvia at a park, and on research here I've read rich's post that says seeds will grow but the virus that caused the leaf appearance is gone, and wardda states from experience that Dancing Flames does not grow true. (dang it, lol)

Soooo, when I plunk these four seeds in dirt next year, what will they likely look like (if they germinate at all)?

They will have solid green foliage and become much more robust and taller plants.

Had the same experience. Only way to get the variegation may be from cuttings. My resulting plants seemed to resemble the large splendens and Van Houttei...but not as good as either.

Thanks for the info! I'm not fussy really. Collecting the seed was fun in and of itself. If I get new plants out of it next year (I'd be happy with taller, red-blooming greenies; I don't have any red salvia now), bonus for me. :]
