Hot Lips - best time to move & transplant

squirrelspur

Hi I know there have been a few threads on Hot Lips. Mine has taken over my raised bed and I have to move it since I'd like to grow some other salvias there and can't right now due to the Hot Lips plant.

It's absolutely huge and blooming and beautiful but too aggressive for the spot I have it in. How nice to find a salvia that is happy in our humidity though and it has taken both high rainfall and drought.

Would it be ok to move now in zone 7A North Carolina?

Should I wait for fall rains (if any).

Should I divide and pot up for the winter and transplant in the spring or is it ok to transplant now? We usually have our first frost end of October but it is evergreen here.

Help!
