 o
which lavender salvia do I have?

I would like to identify the variety of salvia I have. The blossoms, about an inch long, are pale lavender. Earlier, I would have said sky blue, but they are now definitely lavender. Most of the salvia pictures show the blossom growing out of a green "cup" from the stem, but these blossoms have no cup. It's just the branch, then the short lateral stems with the blossom directly at the end of the stem. The leaves are standard salvia shape, pattern and green, but the leaf underside is kind of a dusky purple.
It grows in partial shade, and first blossomed about a month ago. It's about two feet tall, has a central stem.
I am mainly interested in its overwintering ability. Last year I took it indoors (it's in a large pot).

This sounds almost like a Plectranthus, especially ecklonii. The cup or calyx must be present, if only small. Salvias usually have a distinct, if small, calyx. Calyxes on Plectranthus are frequently minuscule.

Since Rich mentioned Plectranthus...
Plectranthus 'Mona Lavender'is commonly available and fits that description well. You would need to keep overwintering it inside.
