Perhaps it's Salvia koyame.

Possibly salvia madrensis. Does the calyces and flowers feel sticky?
Maybe it's salvia digitaloides. When established it makes a basal clump of leaves 1-2 ft high and wide. (Reading from B
C book)
Theres also salvia koyamae.
Salvia nubicola is also yellow with finely spotted maroon marking on the upper lip.

WOW, I know this is a VERY late answer to your question, but it is Salvia koyamae, that is if it is the one I sent you. I have some growing in partial shade and some in full sun, both are doing well so far this year.
