I bought these 2 plants yesterday from a local nursery. How hardy are they in regards to frost? I live in northern California where we do get frost in the winter. What do you think? Should I keep them in pots? Thanks.

Quoting Betsy Clebsch...
s. chamelaeagnea regularly withstands temps of 25 degrees in her garden north of Santa Cruz.
s. chiapensis.."only in frost-free zones can chiapensis survive in the ground year round..it cannot take low temps"
