S. fruticosa

My Greek sage put on a fantastic display this year; just a few questions about that:

1. The flowering stems grew tall and curved upwards and outwards, encircling smaller plants (but not damaging them). Is this normal? I'd like to see it again next season.

2. The flowers are just coming to an end. I've noticed that the leaves are dying on the older stems, while the seeds are still green. Again, is this normal? There's plenty of new growth, so cutting back won't be a problem.

3. When is the best time to sow the seeds (Mediterranean climate).
