Hi. I bought this plant for the outstanding foliage. It is now blooming with flame red large flowers. Does anyone know (since it is tender) if it sets seed or if cuttings would work? It was rather expensive for an annual..I didn't realize it was...and now have fallen in love with its golden with green spotted foliage and the flame flowers are a smashing compliment. Thanks, Gail

It definitely does come from seed, but loses the virus that makes it compact and gives it the variegation.

It cam be overwintered in a cool, sunny, dryish greenhouse. It will drop its leaves, only to revive in the spring when the weather breaks.
