No, but very nice. Now the million dollar question. Is it making seed???

RE: can anyone ID this salvia?

Yes, I offer it on my page as UI salvia--I'd be happy to send you some if you'd like them. I've had it for years & can't definitely ID it, though I've just found a journal containing seed sowing info from 2004 & 2005 and of all the various salvias I sowed then, the closest it comes to is S. verticillata. It's growing in the sandiest, driest, most neglected garden I've got. Gotta love it.
Can anyone confirm?

Nice picture!
Looks like Salvia verticillata.

RE: can anyone ID this salvia?

I agree with Art. If it sets seed, it is the species. All forms are good honey bee plants. It can self-sow well under the right conditions.

RE: can anyone ID this salvia?

Salvia napifolia would be my guess

Thanks everybody. I'm leaning towards s. verticillata, but jimcrick does have a point. I grew s. napifolia this year & immediately noticed the similarities. I'll search my pictures & see if I've got a decent one of napifolia for comparison. Thanks again.
