Salvia 'Dancing Dolls'

There are a couple of 3-year old Salvia 'Dancing Dolls' growing in the Xeric Garden of the arboretum where I volunteer. I have noticed several of what I assume are seedlings around one of the plants. These plants look similar but all have flowers that are different from one another ranging from dark red to a dark reddish-purple, except for one small plant whose few flowers looks identical to 'Dancing Dolls'. Is this plausible? I would have guessed that DD's is a sterile hybrid of some sort, but it appears not to be the case?

From my Dancing Dolls I've had pink flowered seedlings and red flowered seedlings....

I am not sure whether it is pure microphylla or a hybrid, probably with greggii if it is a hybrid. Last year I grew it in a pot and this year planted a few patches. No seedlings appeared this year that could be attributed to Dancing Dolls but seedlings for this general type of salvia are quite common and I don't see why Dancing Dolls should be any different. I have 700 feet of these types of salvia growing in a long row at a park in New Jersey - 178 mature plants at last count. I have given up predicting what the flower color of any particular seedling will be - it can be anything from purplish to pure white.

I rechecked this plant again today and it definitely has seeds on it. Also, the seedlings around it have seeds.
