Did your mother buy this plant at a store? Did she grow it from a leaf cutting? Is it a pup from a mother plant? It looks like a young S. trifasciata Hahnii to me - and growing very well! There looks like a variegated leaf to the right of your picture, but that might be light reflection. Also, to the left of the picture, there looks to be a S. trifasciata Laurentii leaf. Is it connected by rhizome to the plant in the picture? Finally, Hahnii's tend to have more flexible leaves than the taller trifasciata varieties.

Hi! Looks like a 'Hahni' that oerhaps had grown in less than very bright light. These plants are TOUGH! I once broke a leaf in half from a plant in Indonesia and sneaked it in my wallet. It produced twin pups from each leaf half which grew into robust clumps. My latest descendant of that Indonesian 'Hahni' started as a tiny pup I found on a dead leaf. I put the tiny shriveled pup in water overnight before planting it. It is now a fairly husky two rosette plant! These plants are very attractive when grown in a sunny window [Sunlight is slightly filtered with mini venetian blinds]. Happy growing!
