| I have several individuals of the above-named species grown from seed obtained from the CSSA Seed Bank as no. 428 (seed bank catalog no.). The Seed Bank described the seed as being from Sansevieria sp. 424. Has this plant been assigned a formal species name? Does anyone have information or citations to publications about this plant? Any help with these questions will be much appreciated.

| FKH 424 seems to be Sansevieria elliptica. |

| Michaela, Thank you for your response. I did find an article in the journal of the International Sansevieria Society from 2001 (only the second issue of the journal) that recites the convoluted history of the name of this plant. The Society also had ambitions at that time of establishing a seed bank for members, so I have rejoined to see what is going on with that. Thanks again for your quick response. biosparite |
