Hello, Does anyone know where the name "mother in law tongue" comes from? i've sparked quite a debate here at my office, half of the people say that it is because they never die, and half say it is because mother's in law often have sharp tongues.

If your mather in law didn't have that sharp tongue. Her living for ever would be a blessing.
