You can always remove the dead portions of a plant. Any part that is brown or crisp should get cut back to healthy growth. It is debateable if you should remove the sunburnt or cosmetically damaged portions, but you can so long as the plant still has enough leaf surface to survive. I tend to leave most of the damaged areas until the plant has adjusted to my conditions - sometimes the damaged portions dry up and can be removed all on their own.

It's a matter of what style of grower are you? Neat and Tidy, or more Nature Inclined. Life in Habitat is not tidy, or neat but plants can always benefit from outside care.

This Winter I ended up with tip damage that had already died back so I trimed it up to the green. When the plant starts this years flush of Spring growth, I will likely cut these leaves off at soil level. Just a Tidyer I guess.
