save my sans

I recently moved from Chicago to Las Vegas. I've had my sans for 10 years. It has flourished as an indoor plant in the winter and loved going on the balcony for Chicago's summer. It survived my move to Vegas and likes being outside all the time...or does it? I have watered it more often due to the dry, hot desert climate. It gets some direct sunlight but not all day sun. It just flowered which I have never seen before--very exciting. But it appears that there is some yellowing and wrinkling of the core stalks. Also some new sprouts that have quickly died. I was away for a week and foolishly asked my roommate to watch the plants for me. He told me he watered it everyday for a week. Could this be the problem? Can I reverse the process? I have this same post in the gallery section with a picture but am too new to this site to figure out how to post a picture here. There wasn't a response there so I am trying to post here. Thanks!
