Not all of the yellow- margined- with- horizontal- striped- green- flat- leaves are the exact same plant. The tall, narrow leaved laurentii that is so common is one of them. Futura simplex is very similar-but with shorter, wider thick leaves. Hahnii marginated is the same colors as the others but is a dwarf birdsnest type with leaves of about 5" tall in an open rosette form. We would have to see a picture to tell which plant is yours.

Attached is the link to my webshots page with two photos of my sansevieria. Please let me know if you think it is a Futura simplex or a sansevieria laurentii as I am honestly not sure and would like to know.

Elizabeth, I'd say futura simplex--but young laurentii starts out wider than when the leaves come from a more mature root. If Your future roots are narrow, it is laurentii.

Thank you for your input. I guess it is too soon to tell which Sansevieria it is. Maybe in a year or two I should know for sure?

S. laurentii can and does grow very tall, 3-4 ft is not uncommon. Each leaf will grow larger than the last and straight up. S. futura simplex will grow twice as wide. the the S. hahnii complex, will grow quiet flat to the ground, leaves being about 5-8" tall only. Norma
