I would bet you have a fertilized seed pod. I haven't managed this on a Sans yet, but I imagine that as it ripens, there will be color changes, and a split should occur along the case when the seed is ready for broadcast. A trick with aloe seeds is to afix a panty hose tip end, cut, or the short ones worn with pants, whose name I can not remember. If the case opens while you are away, or not paying attention, the panty hose should contain the seed. You can tape the open ends to the stalk in a perfect world...

Yes, that was my thought too, that it is a seed pod but I've never been lucky enough to have one before this.
That's a great idea Cena, to contain the seed the way you suggested. I'll give that a try but I have never had good luck planting things indoors from seed.
Will see what happens down the road.

Hi. It's a seed. If it's bright orange, and the pulp is
soft, it's ready to plant. There will be one large seed
inside, not many small ones. I wash the orange pulp off,
and plant it in a small pot in well draining mix. Don't plant it any deeper than the width of the seed. I've seen
them germinate just lying on the top of the soil. May take
several weeks before you see a plant, but small Sansevierias
are fairly fast growing.

I've always just taken a cutting if the plant is large enough and never had it progress enough to produce seed.

I have the tiniest, cutest little sans growing under a light.
It took barely 3 weeks to germinate.
