Last year I potted my first cutting. The TV show that I saw about making new plants from sans cuttings said it would only take 3-4 months to start growing. Maybe they were talking about the roots! My cutting just started to grow about a month ago. So it took about a year for me to see the new growth! I just watered it like once a week, and it was not in any direct sun. It has been at my office inside of a cubicle with only flourescent light. Good luck!

I pot up hundereds of them at a time. They are in a green house which gets terrific light from the west. I think it's too much, but they do grow. WE start them in 2" of soil and 1" apart, they like to be crowded. We got very good results, watering once a week after they had hardened off at the cut. They need to touch the bottom of the container with their roots before putting up the first new growth, and you may get several per cuttings. The second week we start to fertilize after we have watered. These did not take 3/4 months and my new one (S. bella)rooted down in two weeks, it's depends on the temperatures, I don't see the new grwoth yet. I started it May 21 or so.
