Sansevieria a Valuable Food Source

RainforestGuy

Sansevierias are not poisonous and in fact are a valuable food source rich in carotenoids and cancer fighting agents.

Now let's not run outside and start eating them. The study was done on S. liberica, a less grown species of this robust species.

I have always wondered about sansevierias great powers as a food source especially since I have witnessed slugs and snails relish these plants over more delicious garden regulars such as tomatoes, spinach, lettuce and broccoli.

Yes, slugs would rather make holes in your priceless sansevierias than eat your four leaf clover or baby strawberry plant.

The reason is that they know that the sansevieria carries phyto-chemicals that you can't find anywhere else.
