Variegates and spines too? I'm getting light-headed.

Maybe it's a case of submental after effects.
It happens.

The way people get variegates are from rapid and multiple production of shoots from cells within a cutting. They do spot naturally but this will take a long time. If you were to cut up a common sansevieria many many times into small units, I bet you will find variegates among them.

Just so you know, submental doesn't mean anything in English, at least not the English we speak in America.

We don't use the translation of Chinese as it means other things to the Chinese and makes no sense to us. Most language don't translate to English well either unless the person is bi-linguel, I notice that jokes don't translate well either from a different language. Language is STRAGE? What a fine example of what English is capable. The perfect blend of "language is strange" and "language is storage". Submental, on the other hand, sounds Freudian to me, but I am not a native English speaker. Anyways, whatever trolls may eat, I always pity the poor Sansevieria cripples, not having enough green to feed themselves properly. I would not countenance them in my collection. Are they tasty in a salad or pie, do you have experience?
