S 'Tugela River Valley' ???

| Here's a plant you seldom see - maybe. I obtained the plant as a NoID, I'm pretty sure it is the species decribed by Juan in "The Splendid Sanseveieria", but I wish he had called it S. sp from the Tugela River Valley. It has not flowered yet but Juan says it has a spike raceme. The largest leaf you see is about 10" long. The purple fades slowly over time. |

| I am surprised nobody else has chimed in. The only Sans I know that is purple liek that is S. masoniana. The leaves on your plant look like they may be thicker then S. masoniana. |

| Yes it's a 2006 photo. I sent the whole plant to Russ Hammer in 2007 to propagate. I assume he kept a pup and returned it to me a couple of years ago. The plant has grown since then, but it is is s small species. I doubt the leaves would exceed 10" in the best environment. I would consider it "Collector's" species as its not spectacular. |
