According to The Sansevieria Journal, Vol. 19, there is some discussion as to whether or not 'Silver Blue' is a kirkii. based on the fact S.B. has a particularly thick and rounded leaf at the soil line. Experts also point out that the short flower stalk (4" tall on this plant) are uncharacteristic of the kirkii species. The better-known plant we call kirkii 'superclone' is also under suspect as a kirkii variety. 'Silver Blue' is under the microscope as one of the S. mafinga types of Sansevierias.
