Trifasciata propagation--flower or fungus?

A week ago I cut and planted leaf clippings from a damaged snake plant. Last night I saw what looked like a white pill on top of the soil. I wasn't sure, so I let it be. This morning it turned into a flower! Except flowers don't normally grow 1.5 cm in a night. In other posts about snake plant propagation, I've seen pictures of green sprouts, not flowers. So is this a fungus or a flower?

The potting mix is cheap soil (probably dug up outdoors) mixed with 25% used coffee grounds. I've been spraying the leaves daily (and getting the soil damp as well).
