Hi,

Have you actually touched the droplets. Are they slightly sticky? If so, then you have what is commonly known as 'extra floral nectar'. This is a slighlty sweet & sticky substance produced by Sansevierias - from leaves & stolons as well as inflorescences. It is quite normal & nothing to worry about and these droplets eventually dry up & form solid little lumps.

They are more predominant during flowering & it is thought that the plant produces it in order to attract insects or ants to aid with pollination.

Oh Birdsnest, that's it exactly, slightly viscous these droplets, bit sticky & definately sweet-smelling. What a relief!! Am soooo glad it's normal & not bugs. I've got a fair number of Sans & have never heard of them having insect pests. Thx a lot for the info!

Then again, I've never heard of this 'extra floral nectar'. Cool, glad to know, I wonder if I should just wipe it off from time to time?

LOL...isn't that great? And isn't it great that we don't have to worry about all those pesky bugs with these plants? Love it!!

Wow, I wish it were that easy. Of course well grown & well cared for plants will not have any bugs. BUT, I have seen Sansevierias completely infested with thrips, mealy bugs, scale & whitefly. These critters CAN & DO completely kill the plant & often you wont know about it until it is too late. Thrips are particularly nasty.

That is why it is always a good idea to keep newly received plants (whether from a friend or from a nursery) in a seperate room. Quarantine them & treat them with a few doses of ststemic insecticide before introducing them to the rest of your prized collection.
