I got mine from a mail order nursery about 25 years ago. It was really new then, and I was excited to grow it. I paid a fair price of $15 for a single bareroot offset. So, I think you got it for a pretty darn good price. The nice thing about this plant is the way it renews itself with each new offset. I still love the look of a well grown plant with young silvery shoots. Though, after all these years the novelty has somewhat worn off. I'm looking at one now as I type.

PS. It's amazing to realize that I still remember exactly what I paid for a plant, where I got it (Mobile Gardens, long out of business), and what it looked like when I got it. Yet, I can't remember people's names to save my life.

Josh, After reading your post, made a run to our 'Target'. They had 'Moonshine' also....so brought one home with me. My plastic pot was distorted with 3 plants packed in also. It had been treated kinda rough...but hopefully my new growth will be much nicer! $2.99 here also...great deal!!

Target has some nice goodies now and then. I saw a 'Golden Hahnii' for $2.99 at my local Target, but I was a few days too late- it already had crown rot.

This is a GREAT Sans, that I really enjoy. I just wish it would say the silvery pale green that it was as a youngster.

Josh, I meant to get on here & tell you that you may find yours very fast growing. I received one as gift, summer '02, a parent plant abt 5" tall w/ a small 2" pup. Well that pup took off like a rocket & grew up so amazingly fast I called it my 'jet-fueled' Sans. W/in 6 months the pup was TWICE the height of the parent plant, just astonishing! It now towers over the parent & has largely darkened w/ age, but still has a beautiful dark green edge.

I encourage anyone who can find this Sans. to try it, very rewarding & requires next to no care!!
