Marlon, Your offset looks different. More white edge? I would love to see more pictures as it grows.

Yes, these first few leaves have wider papery white edges, but these first leaves are more scale-like than true leaves, and I believe this will change as the offsets matures and makes bigger leaves. Also, I guess these edges look more white because the pictures were taken using flash.

I will take more pictures of this plant as it grows and post them here.

Ten days later, the offset has grown a bit more:

It is also more bluish than the parent plant. The edges of the leaves have a wider white papery border, it would be nice if further leaves retain this character.

I'll share a lesson learned the hard way about these, their points are VERY sharp. If you ever need to transport it, I've learned to put styrofoam peanuts on the leaf tips to protect things from the points.

i got my ping. from a offset maybe 2 years ago. It looks like it hasn't grown a bit. It didn't help when the plant and pot went topsy tervy(fell). The mama plant was growing high showing roots so that is the way i planted mine. Maybe this year it will show some growth.

I got my ping cutting about 4 years ago. It took it a year to settle, then the first offset died. It was going into winter and the shift in temperatures from moving to a new house did it in. Two years ago another offset formed and grew dramatically that summer. These little guys just have a clock of their own.
