Sansevierias are the easiest things to grow. We think they are the original "bullet-proof" houseplant. They are not hardy, however, and must spend your NY winter in a house, or otherwise warm place. They would do best near a window for the light. In the summer, they can go outside. Acclimate them to the sun slowly, or you risk burning the leaves. As a whole, they are aptly described as plants that thrive on "benign neglect".

I have two of these plants (first two mentioned). Both are unique and don't look at all alike. If you don't find a picture of these plants in the 'gallery' of this forum that you like, let me know, and I will send you pictures.
You will probably find that Tropiflora has more than these three choices. Choose what you like.

If you really get interested in Sansevierias, e-mail me personally, and I will mail you some free plants when the weather gets better as I assume it's below freezing often in NY now.

Hi Mike,

Thank you for getting back to me so quickly. Also thanks for the generous offer for the free plants I just might take you up on that offer come Spring. I found pictures of them and will probably walk out with more than one especially now I know how easy they are too care for.

When I get back I will post pictures of the ones I choose.
