Lack of Gardening T.V. Shows

Where have all the good t.v. gardeneing shows gone?
Where are t.v. southern gardening shows?
Many folks new to gardening formerly relied upon advice from gardening shows. HGTV carries a show 1-2 times a month. A.P.T. in Birmingham carries "The Victory Garden", run for 31 years out of Mass. Would it be rational for a southerner to follow advice from a Zone 4/5 Massachusetts gardener?
Good southern gardening shows should include ornamental as well as vegetable and fruits, and propagation too.

I also think we need more real gardening shows on TV. I'm so tired of the garden makeover shows on HGTV. They don't give any real advice on how to garden and take care of plants over the long term. I love the Victory Garden, though. :)

When I lived up in North MS there was a show that came on Tennessee public TV called Volunteer Gardening or something like that. It was a great show! We certainly need a show like that here in Mississippi, too.

Georgia public tv has Garden Smart and the Walter Reeves show, but I agree, we need more real gardening shows - Gardeners Diary is the only one on tv right now that has anything about gardening in the south.

HGTV still shows Gardening by The Yard. a very practical gareden show. He covers all areas.
