Hosta already sprouting in the bag! HELP!

Posted by Equine z8 GA (My Page) on

What do I do?! I have a Lily of the Valley and two Hosta's that have already sent out green shoots and they are still in the plastic bags they came in. They aren't supposed to be planted for months! How do I treat them?

I think you should go ahead a plant them. They should be all right. You can always mulch them if we get an unexpected freeze or heavy frost. You want to get them all settled and started before the summer heat starts.

Mine had shoots too in the bag and I have potted the hosta's up in nursery pots, watered them and put them outside in a protected half sunny place and they are doing fine.

Equine, I'm just curious about how your Lily of the Valley has done? I want to buy some but "I'm afeared"
