Below freezing Wed/Thurs night and bud growth

They're calling for it to go into the 20's for a couple of nights, (with low 50's during the days). My ES Hydrangeas are budding, and my ferns and Impatiants are comeing up. Will covering them with sheets help? Or do I need to be worried at all??
